Subu,
you had put a query regarding pay fixation for an employee promoted from S-27 to S-29 on 1 Feb 2006. Very clearly, he does not get any increment on 1.7.2006 as he had not completed the mandatory six months. This would be the case even if he would have got promoted on 2 Jan.
He is supposed to get the increment on 1.7.2007 (next year) and so on.
For his basic pay of Rs19550/- on 1.1.2006 in S-27, his new emoluments would be Rs42420/- as total pay + zero DA. (revised pay Rs34020/- + grade pay of 8400/-) for one month.
On 1 Feb 2006, the promotion is to be effected and he lands at the minimum of S-29, due to the huge jump from PB-3 to PB-4. The revised pay of Rs43280/- + grade pay of Rs9000/- total to Rs52280/- from 1.2.2006. From 1.7.2007, he is supposed to get increments of 2.5% of Rs52280/- per year till next promotion.

A person has basic pay of 19550 as on 01-01-2006 in S-26 pay. He got an increment as per fifth pay commission on 01-02-2006 and hence his basic as on 01-02-2006 is 20000. He did not get increment in February 2007 as per fifth pay commission since the scle got saturated at 20000. He got promotion in August 2007 and was fixed at 20900 in S-29 scale.
Now what are the pays for him as per sixth commission as on
01-01-2006
01-02-2006
01-02-2007
01-07-2007
01-08-2007.
Is it possible for him to select fixation date a) 01-01-2006, b) 01-02-2006, c) 01-08-2007 and if so which is bes.
I feel as the fixation date is latter, his fixation will be high, but loses arrears.
Kindly offer your comments.

is the answer
1-1-2006 :-
34020 (BP) + 8400 (GP) = 44420
01-02-2006 :- same as above.
01-02-2007:-
34020 (Bp) + 8400 (GP) + 2521 (DA @ 6%) = 44941
01-07-2007 :-
34020 (BP) + 8400 (GP) + 1050 (Increment at 2.5%)+ 5168 (DA @ 12%) = 48638
01-08-2007:-
43280 (new BP) + 9000 (grade pay + 6274 (DA at 12%) = 58554
01-01-2008:-
43280 (BP) + 9000 (GP) + 9410 (DA at 18%) = 61690
01-07-08:-
43280(BP) + 9000 (GP) + 1307 (increment) + 9646 (DA at 18%) = 63233.
